4-year Degree

Students develop a greater understanding of tourism’s role in local, state, national and global, economic, social and cultural development. They develop skills and knowledge to manage the human, physical, and financial resources of tourism regions in an environmentally responsible manner. The program emphasizes the practical application of planning, marketing and economic theory, and students learn the tools that are used to develop and manage tourism resources. A long-standing partnership with an extensive array of businesses or agencies in New Hampshire tourism gives students access to a wide variety of environments, activities and mentors in the field. The program is flexible so students can obtain a broad, liberal arts and cultural background ranging from music and dance to athletics and nature.

The program, through required internships and independent study, allows students the opportunity to expand professional preparation far beyond classroom and textbook activities. Internships and independent study projects enable students to come in contact with potential employers and enter into the tourism profession under competent supervision and guidance. The cooperative efforts of faculty and students will also provide basic information and services to NH communities that will enable communities to better identify, develop, promote and manage their tourism resources.
